Objective:The objective of the Five Days Vocational Training on Emerging Trends in Food Process Industries under Vocational Training Series: 2023-24 is to turn more and more students to entrepreneur as entrepreneurship under food processing is excellent opportunities for young aspirants. Food processing and post-harvest management can create employment opportunities along the entire value chain, from farming to processing, packaging, marketing, and distribution. Innovative technologies such as solar dryers, cool rooms, cold storage facilities and many advanced processing technologies can improve the quality of harvested produce, reduce post-harvest losses, and enhance the income of farmers. This training will explore vision to UG students for food processing industries and may you be job giver than job seeker.
 
Pre Event Description :
College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology going to organize Five Days Vocational Training Series – 2023-24 under the aegis of NAHEP-IDP, ICAR. Eminent speakers from the reputed institutes and industries across the country have been invited in these trainings to share their domain expertise to the students. The Vocational Training Series :2023-24 comprises of four vocational trainings out of which Department of Processing and Food Engineering is organizing vocational training on II. Emerging Trends in Food Process Industries Food-process industries are now regarded as the sunrise sector of the Indian economy in view of its large potential for growth and likely socio economic impact specifically on employment and income generation. Earlier, food processing was largely confined to the food preservation, packaging, transportation, and mainly the primary processing activities. However, over the years, with emerging new markets and technologies, the sector has widened its scope. It has started producing many new items like ready-to-eat food, beverages, processed and frozen fruit and vegetable products, marine and meat products, etc. It also include establishment of post-harvest infrastructure for processing of various food items like cold storage facilities, food parks, packaging centers, value addition centers, irradiation facilities and modernised processing facilities. It is, therefore, imperative to introduce state-of-the-art technology in the food-processing sector to minimise post-harvest losses. The training on “Emerging Trends in Food Process Industries” will give the practical knowledge to the students of B. Tech. Agricultural engineering to understand Opportunities to set up spice processing Unit in MSME sector, Emerging technology for Onion Processing, New processing machinery for green bengal gram, ginger, turmeric, aloevera, Aonla, Emerging technology for garlic processing etc.
